Paul Tiilila

Alll the way from Finland!

Yeah now this, this is a good one. Thanks, Paul! I wish I could hear you pronounce your last name. There are also two dots above the a; if that were a German name and the a was an o then I would know the name for it...or is it still an umlaut.

I am being edumacated. I'm looking at Wikipedia now. It's probably an umlaut and indicates a 'regressive vowel harmony'. Isn't THAT a cool descriptor??

Frips

FRiPs sends this one, a print of her print. LOVE IT!! THANK YOU! The girl's got game. She's so right on.

Vincent Courtois

Two really nice montages. First one is a printed postcard, by the author (mais oui), entitles <> (the dream).

He also sent this postcard-sized montage of superimposed/photographed/photocopied? images, which I really like too:

Thanks so much, Vincent.

Happy New Year!

Friends folks countrypeople cousins,

A semi-belated happy new year and a very definitely belated posting of some very definitely fun and beautiful artwork from creative consciousnesses around the globe! I'm getting caught up with this mail arting; I was on semi-hiatus due to a broken wrist (which is healing nicely, hopefully the cast will come off next thursday), a current illness (rather minor in the way of things but a factor nonetheless) and a developing obsession with stopmotion animation, which has conspired to will me away from mail art and into the fabulous world of....well, stopmotion animation! Which is a blast, I gotta tell you!

A hearty thank you to all who have sent me your art, and expect to see something goodfulness in the post to you in return very shortly. Again....thank you all for sharing your creative spirit and bitchin' attitudes! (and I mean that in the most awesomest sense of the word)

Maurizio Follin

I like this cool, cool blue collage ensemble by Italian artist Maurizio. Grazie molto!

Norbert Vanzke

The postcard itself looks like a sploosh of water - Ser gut! The x/y mix and mashup element in the text is very tickly. Vielen Dank, Norbert!

You can see his other submission right this-a-way.

Really enjoy your sense of humor, Mr. Norbert.

Nadia Poltosi

I really dig this Escher/Twilight Zone collage from Nadia in Brasil. Obrigada, Nadia!

Tatyana Makarova

Tatyana sends her x/y collage from Russia, probably with love. She has sewn together hand-painted and graphic illustration, and print/magazine. Love it!

Luis Valera Escarré

Hailing from Venezuela as well - perhaps you and Annijames are neighbors and enjoyed an art night together? Thanks very much!

Annijames Rivero

I especially like the photoboth/mask bit:

This from Annijames in Venezuela - thank you, Anni!

the art of no(i)se

The author of this amusing piece titles it 'strange no(i)se'. Very clever. I love it! Thank you Michel, who hails from France. The stamp is is very lovely too, how apropo, a wonderful accompanyment:

the void

See this nice white empty space?

well as soon as I can upload pictures then it will be filled with another wonderment from Adamandia. As of this morning, Blogger won't upload pics though....boo hoo. I am like a cat. I can lie in wait. For hours. Plus, I don't have any real choice in the matter - don't want to use an external source. Unless things stay stuck around here all day.

fridge music

And here's me goofing off last week.

Is it a xylophone precursor, or jugs of liquid? You decide and feel free to send me your own x/y interpretations to this here place. Stay cool.

lock/unlock

Received from Ayesha.......rather late on the posting, sorry! MMMmmmm loves me some collage, I do - thanks for yours!

more illusions

This from Richard over on Emerald Lane.....

Before I opened his letter and diagrammatic picture, I rode home on my bike a little differently than I usually do. I passed a crosswalk, and the sign posted on the street said

No Standing
No Stopping
No Parking

Pretty cool. Thanks Richard.

diatomic

Faith sent me this awesome x/y last week...I think...I'm behind on posting and the days are all running together (so what is new). I love the write-up. That's the spirit!! Thanks for the art!

from the land of illusion

Richard has once again sent along some wonderful x/y wordplay! I love his sense of humor. And how did you know I LOVE FRUITCAKE?! If anyone wants to send me their unwanteds or leftovers from holidays I'd be much obliged.

And another here:

Hey Richard - thanks muchly, I do enjoy your whimsy.

hands across

Troy in Florida sent me this unique postcard. I like how chunky and oversized it is, plus it's tactile, I think he uses gel medium and acrylic. And I really like the hands stamped and colored all over the backside. Sweet! Thank you Troy!

Relax Your Mind

Wonders never cease. Here, the envelope that Rael (in the Netherlands) sent two sheets of illustration in:

And the illustrations themselves:

These are great. I love his style. I wonder if it's dry-point, plexiglass, prints, and copied? I am so inspired. Do you do comics or zines? Can I be a groupie????

Lookit all that busy-ness of 'relaxing'!! Sugoi!!

One of these is sideways, I realize...but I am learning the ropes with the scanner at work and I only have so much time to do it in. So I hope you don't get a big ol' crick in yer neck craning it forty five degrees.
